Ikea Gulliver Crib
I received a convertible 3 in 1 crib fro my baby shower a few years ago (cannot remember which brand) and it ended up being recalled. Scared me to death! The company sent me a kit to fix the crib but when I did some more research on the crib model I found that it was under investigation for a second recall for a completely different safety issue.
This time around when I was shopping for cribs for my second child I was completely turned off of the drop side cribs. I went looking for a model that was SIMPLE. No drop side, and I wanted it to be made from materials that would be safe if my baby were to decide to chew on the rails (like baby #1 did). I was having no luck until I decided to shop around at a local Ikea store and found they have really great and AFFORDABLE baby cribs.
I was actually prepared to spend a good amount on my crib but I ended up spending around $100 on the crib. They have some mattresses that seemed pretty nice too which were around $50 dollars more but I just used the mattress from the old crib I had which was barely used anyhow. The mattress fit great. I love this crib!
It was easy to put together. I bought the model which natural beech wood with a very light, natural finish. It's a bit smaller than most models of cribs which was actually pretty nice, especially since our nursery is not the biggest one going. I really couldn't be happier!
